My film, video and multi-media work includes several documentary scripts and programs for SABC and eTV, South Africa's main television broadcasters, as well as many different narrative scripts for marketing and promotional videos in the United States and South Africa. With Ya Rona Productions in South Africa, I was a co-producer for Abdullah Ibrahim's "Shosholoza" music video (through EMI Records South Africa), and Vusi Khumalo's "Dusk to Dawn," (M.E.L.T. 2000 Records) groundbreaking music video. "Dusk to Dawn" won accolades for its creative use of the urban environment of Johannesburg and Soweto, blended with club performance scenes. I also wrote and produced "Four Faces of Africa," a special multi-media presentation for African heads of state, foreign diplomats and dignitaries participating in the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD). "Four Faces of Africa" depicted the four regions of the Motherland - Northern, Southern, East and West Africa - in a poetic narrative describing the history, beauty and unique struggles and achievements of the Continent. I am currently developing treatments and scripts for submission to various American television agents, networks and producers and other literary projects.

All video and film productions begin with ideas, imagination, intuition, a concept and a script. As a writer, I work in conjunction with producers, editors, cinematographers and other professionals as part of a production team. Island of Spice Media provides scriptwriting, consulting and production services that help clients develop their concepts and analyze target markets and audiences. Ideas, messages and themes are then created into compelling stories and images that can be represented with the appropriate production format, creative talent, style and emotion.
